CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY
Creative technology: tools for your brand
Initial is a design studio based in Liège, Belgium. We design tools built on your identity: visual generators, smart templates, automations and interactive prototypes that your team uses on its own.
A brand that publishes every day can’t have every visual drawn by hand. It needs tools that know its rules.
THE PROJECT OFFER
Creative technology
Tools, generators and interactive experiences that put the brand to work.
- Smart templates & automations
- Visual generators
- Interactive prototypes
- Design system & integration
APPROACH
Design becomes a tool, not just a file
Most identities are delivered as guidelines: written rules, examples, source files. That works as long as there aren’t many assets. As soon as you need a campaign in twenty formats, a post a day or a visual per client, every variation goes back through a designer, and that’s where the brand starts to drift.
Creative technology puts those rules inside a tool. For House of Backbone, a random grid and metaballs generate campaign visuals from the spine system, in every format. For Salomon, a tool warps, stretches and wraps type in real time, and every poster it produces is different while speaking the same language. For Trace, sensor data becomes lines unique to each session and each athlete.
We design the tool the way we design an identity: we start from what your team has to produce, then decide what stays free and what is fixed. The result can be a generator in the browser, a smart template for your social media, an automation connected to your data, or an interactive prototype for a launch. The studio designs and builds the whole thing, and the tool can evolve with the brand.
IN PRACTICE
Tools your team actually uses
A brand tool only has value if it gets used. Before building anything, we look at how your team produces today: who makes the visuals, in which software, at what pace, and where mistakes appear. The tool then fits into that workflow rather than imposing a new one.
Depending on the need, it can be a simple browser interface where you pick a format, a text and an image to get an on-brand visual, a post template that adapts to every network, or an interactive prototype to present a product at launch. In every case, the identity’s rules are built into the tool.
The studio designs and builds these tools itself, from your identity or the one it creates with you, and evolves them with how you use them. Below, an excerpt from the experimental Salomon project.
PROCESS
From rule to tool
Four steps. You test the tool long before it’s finished.
- //01
Understand
What your team produces, how often, in which formats, and where it loses time. We spot what can be systematised.
- //02
Define
The rules of the tool: what the brand fixes, what the user can adjust, and what comes out at the end, image, video or file.
- //03
Prototype
A first working version, tested by your team on real content. We adjust the settings and the outputs before going further.
- //04
Deliver and evolve
Launch or integration into your tools, handover, then new formats or features when the brand needs them.

FAQ
Creative technology questions
What to know before you start a brand tool. Another question?
Talk about your ideaDesign that goes through code: tools, generators and interactive experiences built on a brand’s rules. Instead of only delivering files, the studio delivers what lets you produce them.
Teams that produce a lot of content: marketing, social media, sales, events. The tool lets them create visuals that respect the brand without waiting for a designer for every variation.
No. We can build a tool on an existing identity. If its rules are unclear, we start by clarifying them, otherwise the tool reproduces the inconsistencies.
Most often as a web app in the browser, with nothing to install. Depending on the need, it can also be a template in your software, an automation connected to your data or a prototype for a launch.
Yes. New formats, new features, a new season: the tool can evolve as a project or as part of a monthly plan.
